11 Longhorns, two Relays qualify for NCAA Indoors

The University of Texas Track & Field program has qualified 11 individuals and two relays for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships next weekend in Birmingham, Ala. NCAA Championships are Friday, March 8 - Saturday, March 9.

4x400m Relay
The last time the NCAA Championships were held in Birmingham (2016), the Longhorns enjoyed a plethora of success. On the women's side, Teahna Daniels won the National Championship in the 60m, Courtney Okolo in the 400m and the 4x400m Relay team walked away with the title. UT finished fourth in that meet. On the men's side, the Longhorns finished fifth with Zack Bilderback (400m) and Ryan Crouser (shot put) winning National Championships.
UT looks for its sixth Top-10 finish at NCAA Indoors in the last 10 seasons on the women's side, but their first team title since 2006. The Longhorns have won the team title six times: 1968, 1988, 1990, 1998, 1999 and 2006. On the men's side, the Longhorns also look for their sixth Top-10 finish in the last 10 seasons. The men have never won the indoor title.
Last weekend in Lubbock, the Longhorns walked away with the women's title at Big 12 Championships, their second consecutive and fifth in the last six seasons. Three Longhorn women won Big 12 titles: Teahna Daniels (60m), Kynnedy Flannel (200m) and Ashtin Zamzow (pentathlon). Despite a fifth-place finish on the men's side, John Burt (60m hurdles), Tripp Piperi (shot put) and Sam Worley (mile) all won Big 12 titles.
