No. 2 Men's Tennis lands five on Academic All-Big 12 Team

The Longhorns placed four on the first team and one on the second team.
Austin, Texas – The Texas Men's Tennis team landed five student-athletes on the 2019 Academic All-Big 12 Team, the conference announced Tuesday.
Senior Leonardo Telles earned his third consecutive selection to the first team, where he is joined by classmates Johnny Goodwin with his first and Colin Markes with his second, along with junior Yuya Ito with his first. Senior Rodrigo Banzer also takes home a third-straight selection to the second team.
Nominated by each Big 12 institution's director of student-athlete support services, first-team members consist of those who have maintained a minimum 3.20 GPA with second-team members earning a minimum 3.0 GPA.
To qualify for the team, student-athletes must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA either cumulatively or in the previous two semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of the team's scheduled matches.
Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Seniors who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
