Women's Basketball's Taylor, USA win gold medal at FIBA U19 World Cup

It is Taylor's third gold medal as part of USA Basketball.
BANGKOK, Thailand – Freshman Texas women's basketball player Celeste Taylor and the United States U19 team defeated Australia, 74-70 [OT], on Sunday to claim the gold medal at the 2019 FIBA Women's U19 World Cup at Bangkok, Thailand.
It was the eighth gold medal for the United States [7-0], which improved to 86-13 all-time in U19/Junior World Cups.
Taylor scored five points and brought down six rebounds in 19 minutes in the title tilt. It marked the third gold medal for Taylor with USA Basketball, as she also struck gold at the 2018 FIBA U17 World Cup and the 2017 FIBA Americas U16 Championship.
It was a tight game from the get-go and Australia took a 40-39 advantage into the locker room at halftime. The two teams were tied at 53-all after three periods. Australia led 66-63 with 14 seconds remaining before the United States rallied to tie the game as regulation ended. The USA out-scored Australia 8-4 in the extra period.
The United States, which out-rebounded Australia 62-50, shot just 32.9 percent [28-of-85] from the field in the game. Australia [5-2] shot 35.9 percent [28-of-78] from the floor.
