AUSTIN, Texas — Junior forward Jericho Sims posted his third-straight double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds, but The University of Texas Men's Basketball team (10-4, 0-2 Big 12) dropped a 72-62 decision to Oklahoma (11-3, 2-0 Big 12) on Wednesday night at the Frank Erwin Center. Texas had its four-game winning streak snapped against the Sooners in games played in Austin.
Sims converted 6-of-9 field goals and tied his career high with 15 boards in 31 minutes. Sophomore guard Courtney Ramey paced the Longhorns with a team-high 14 points. Junior guard Matt Coleman III posted 10 points and tied a career high with 4 steals, while junior guard Jase Febres added 10 points in the loss.
Texas held a 29-20 advantage at the 7:15 mark of the first half, but the Sooners used a 14-4 run to close the half and took a 34-33 lead into the locker room. The Longhorns converted just 36.7% (11-30) from the floor in the final 20 minutes, including a 3-of-16 mark (.188) from three-point range.
