No. 1 Men’s Swimming wraps up Jingle Bell Splash with three victories

The Longhorns collected wins from Ethan Harder, Adam Fusti-Molnar and Ethan Heasley.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 1 Texas Men's Swimming secured wins in all three final races the Longhorns competed in on Sunday at the Jungle Bell Splash at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center
In the 200 fly, junior Ethan Harder clocked a 1:43.90 to pick up the win, while sophomore Ben Charles touched the wall at 1:49.50 to finish second.
The 100 breaststroke saw freshman Adam Fusti-Molnar grab the victory with a time of 54.11 and senior Andrew Couchon place second at 54.26.
Texas closed out the evening by sweeping the 200 free, with sophomore Ethan Heasley clocking the fastest time at 1:36.24, followed by Harder at 1:39.03 and redshirt senior Colter Carman and 1:39.07.
PRELIM HIGHLIGHTS
- In the prelims, Texas claimed the top-three times in the 200 fly, with Harder clocking the fastest mark in the morning session at 1:44.16, followed by junior Cole Crane at 1:47.63 and Charles at 1:50.22.
- The Longhorns claimed the two fastest prelims times in the 100-yard breaststroke as Fusti-Molnar led the way with a 54.44 followed by Couchon at 54.56.
- UT registered four of the top seven times in the 200 free prelims, with Heasley clocking the fastest time at 1:36.38, Harder (1:40.05) and Carman (1:41.57) registering the third and fourth-best times, and sophomore Victor Tremblay (1:44.12) posting the seventh-fastest time.
- Texas had two swimmers compete in the 200 IM prelims, with senior Halvor Borgstroem posting the fastest time at 1:48.81, while Carman registered the second-fastest mark at 1:49.92.
The Longhorns will return to action on January 14 when they travel to Columbus, Ohio to face off against Ohio State.
