Brissett falls short on Day Three of U.S. Olympic Trials

Senior Chanel Brissett registered a 12.71 in Sunday’s 100m hurdles semifinal.
EUGENE, Ore. – University of Texas Track & Field senior Chanel Brissett placed sixth in her semifinal heat of the 100m hurdles at the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials on Sunday night at Hayward Field.
Brissett lined up in lane eight for the second semifinal heat and clocked a 12.71 to finish sixth, the 12th-fastest overall time in the round. The 2021 USTFCCCA All-American reached the semifinal after registering a 12.80 and placing fourth in her first-round heat yesterday.
The Trials pick back up on Monday at Hayward Field in Eugene with Day Four action beginning with the men's pole vault final at 5:30 p.m. CT.
