No. 1 Women's Swim collects five wins at Minnesota Invitational

Texas Women’s and Men's Swimming combined for seven victories on the final day of the Minnesota Invitational.
MINNEAPOLIS – No. 1 Texas Men's and Women's Swimming teams combined for seven victories on the final day of the Minnesota Invitational on Saturday at the Jean K Freeman Aquatics Center.
Sophomore Erica Sullivan kicked things off for Texas with a victory in the 1650 free, touching a wall in 15:58.97 for the fastest time in the NCAA this season.
Olivia Bray followed with a second-place finish in the 200 back with a time of 1:50.71, a new personal best that improved her No. 2 mark in program history. The junior's time was just shy of the A-standard and is the fourth-best 200 back in the NCAA this season.
Texas took the top-two spots in the 100 free, as junior Grace Cooper clocked a season-best 48.51 for the win and senior Kyla Leibel placed second in 48.68, her top time on the year.
Lydia Jacoby followed with a dominating three-second victory in the 200 breast, winning with a personal-best time of 2:07.14 that placed her fourth all-time in program history. The freshman's mark is the eighth-best on the year in the NCAA.
The Longhorns tallied a 1-2 finish in the 100 fly, with senior Kelly Pash posting the top time in the NCAA this season with an A-standard 1:51.96 and graduate student Dakota Luther placing second in 1:52.58, an A-standard in the third-fastest swim in the NCAA this year. Pash's time improved her second-place mark on Texas' all-time rankings while Luther moved into the number five spot on the list.
Texas wrapped up the evening and the trip to Minnesota with a win in the 400 free relay. Pash, Leibel, Cooper and Bridget Semenuk teamed up to swim an A-standard 3:12.06, the third-fastest mark in the NCAA this season. Additionally, Pash opened the relay with a 47.35 split, the second-fastest time in program history and just behind Claire Adams' 2018 record of 47.32.
On the men's side, freshman Alec Enyeart claimed his second victory in as many days, winning the 1650 free with the second-fastest time in the NCAA this season at 14:43.39.
Junior Chris O'Connor collected his first victory of the year, touching the wall first in the 200 back with a time of 1:40.65. His mark is the eighth-best in the NCAA on the year.
Next up for the Longhorns, the divers travel to West Virginia to compete in the USA Diving Winter Nationals on Dec. 14-18.
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Olivia McMurray took fifth in the 1650 free with time of 16:19.67.
- In the 100 free, senior Bridget Semenuk swam a season-best 49.01 to place fifth.
- Channing Hanely placed seventh in the 200 breast with the sophomore posting a time of 2:13.47.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior Coby Carrozza placed fourth in the 1650 free with a time of 15:10.71.
- Senior Ethan Harder finished eighth in the 200 back, clocking 1:44.40.
- The 100 free had a pair of season-best performances from fifth-year Daniel Krueger (42.23) and senior Peter Larson (42.54).
- In the 100 breast, fifth-year Braden Vines clocked a season-best 1:53.96 to place third, while senior Paul Degrado swam a season-best 1:57.45 to place seventh.
- Seniors Cole Crane and Sam Artmann tallied their top 200 fly performances of the year, with Crane finishing second with a lifetime-best 1:42.25 and Artmann placing fourth in 1:43.01.
- Texas closed out the invite with a third-place finish in the 400 free relay. Larson, sophomore Luke Hobson, freshman Kobe Ndebele and Krueger teamed for a season-best and A-standard 2:49.32, the fifth-ranked time in the NCAA this season.
