No. 3/1 Track Ready to Defend Big 12 Titles

AMES, Iowa – The No. 3/1 men's and women's track and field program look to defend their Big 12 Indoor Championship title at Iowa State's Lied Recreation Center from February 25-26. A live stream of the meet will be available on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ beginning at 10 a.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday.
The top-ranked women's team heads into the conference meet in the hunt for its fifth-straight trophy, 13th overall. Both Julien Alfred and Kristine Blazevica lead the NCAA in the 60m dash and pentathlon, respectively.
Last season saw Kynnedy Flannel splitting the women's high point award for her outstanding performances, winning both the 60m and the 200m.
The No. 3 men's side are also in the hunt for their second-straight Big 12 indoor title with Tripp Piperi leading the way in the shot put with the No. 1 mark in the country. He enters Saturday's competition looking for his seventh Big 12 shout put title.
Friday will be highlighted by the pentathlon and the heptathlon, numerous first round track events, six field events and will be closed out with the men's DMR. A full schedule of events can be found here.
