Men’s Basketball earns No. 6 seed in NCAA Tournament

The Longhorns will face Virginia Tech in the NCAA First Round on Friday, March 18 at 3:30 p.m. CT on TBS.
MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The tip-off time for The University of Texas' NCAA First Round contest on Friday, March 18 has been set for approximately 3:30 p.m. Central, CBS Sports and Turner Sports announced Sunday night. The No. 22/22 Longhorns (21-11, 10-8 Big 12), the No. 6 seed in the East Region, will face No. 11 seed Virginia Tech (23-12 overall, 11-9 ACC) at Fiserv Forum, and the game will be televised nationally by TBS.
This marks the 36th overall appearance by the Longhorns in the NCAA Tournament. UT will make its 20th NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 23 seasons (not including the 2021 postseason which was canceled due to COVID-19) and is just one of eight schools nationally to appear in at least 20 of the last 23 NCAA tourneys.
Texas Men's Basketball season ticket holders may request tickets for the NCAA First and Second Round games beginning at 9 a.m. Central on Monday, March 14 by logging into your online account or by ordering over the phone by calling the UT Athletics Ticket office at 512-471-3333.
The deadline to request tickets is Monday, March 14 at 2 p.m. Central. Ticket prices for the NCAA First and Second Rounds will range from $80-100. All tickets will be allocated based on loyalty points rank. Men's Basketball postseason priority limits will apply. If Texas advances to the NCAA Second Round, ticket holders will automatically be charged to your card on file. If Texas does not advance, ticket holders will not receive tickets to the Second Round or be charged.
Ticket notification emails will be sent on Tuesday, March 15 by 12 p.m. Central. If your ticket request is filled, all tickets will be sent via mobile delivery on the day prior to UT's game day. Further details will be provided on the ticket notification.
If tickets remain after the season-ticket holder priority seating deadline, tickets will be available to the public beginning Tuesday, March 15 at 9 a.m. Central online at www.TexasSports.com/tickets.
