Men's Basketball's Timmy Allen announces return for 2022-23 season

Allen led the Longhorns in scoring, rebounding and steals last year.
AUSTIN, Texas — Timmy Allen has elected to return to The University of Texas Men's Basketball team for the upcoming 2022-23 season. He made the announcement via his social media platforms on Wednesday morning.
"I'm coming back," Allen said in his post. "My last chance for championships in college, with my brothers. This is how my story is supposed to go. It's already written."
Allen earned All-Big 12 Second Team, Big 12 All-Newcomer Team, NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches) All-District 8 Second Team and USBWA All-District VII Team accolades during his senior campaign. The only Longhorn to start all 34 games last year, he paced the team in scoring (12.1 ppg), rebounding (6.4 rpg) and steals (42) and ranked second in assists (71) and third in minutes played (29.0 mpg).
He converted 49.3-percent from the floor (150-304) and 73.1-percent from the free throw line (106-145) during the 2021-22 season. Allen reached double figures in scoring a team-best 22 times and reached double digits in rebounds three times last year.
Allen has played in 119 career games (116 starts) during his first four years of college at Utah and Texas. He has registered career totals of 1,733 points (14.6 ppg), 751 rebounds (6.3 rpg) and 332 assists (2.8 apg) in 3,797 minutes played (31.9 mpg). Allen has reached double figures in scoring 93 times and topped the 20-point mark 25 times in his collegiate career. He has reached double digits in rebounds 15 times in his career and has tallied 14 career double-doubles.
At the conclusion of the 2021-22 season, Allen was among five active NCAA Division I players to have reached 1,700 points, 700 rebounds AND 300 assists in his career.
