Women's Basketball draws Marquette as 2022 Battle 4 Atlantis bracket is revealed

Longhorns set to participate in the second women’s Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.
PARADISE ISLAND, THE BAHAMAS — Texas will open the 2022 Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis with a first-round match-up against Marquette. The teams will play Saturday, Nov. 19 at 1:30 PM CT.
The 12-game, three-day tournament, regarded as one of the most challenging early-season events will be contested from Nov. 19-21 and will feature the following teams: Tennessee, Rutgers, UCLA, South Dakota State, Louisville, Gonzaga, Marquette and Texas.
After a successful inaugural tournament in 2021 that saw South Carolina beat UConn in the championship game the event is back for year two.
Marquette finished the 2021-22 season with a 23-11 overall record and 13-7 mark in Big East play. The Golden Eagles advanced to the third round of the WNIT. The Longhorns are 1-1 all-time against Marquette. The last meeting came on March 21, 2011, when Marquette won 68-65 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The winner of the matchup between Texas and Marquette will play the winner of Louisville and Gonzaga in the second round of the tournament.
The championship game will be broadcast on ESPN and the third-place game on ESPNU. All other games can be streamed on FloHoops.
