Alfred earns second-ever USTFCCCA weekly honor
AUSTIN, Texas – Setting the NCAA 60m record in January earned Julien Alfred USTFCCCA Co-National Athlete of the Week.
Alfred bested her own NCAA record in winning the 60m dash at the Dr. MLK Jr. Invitational with a time of 7.02. Alfred made her season debut in the 60m prelims equaling her second-fastest time ever in the event at 7.05, just .01 second off her collegiate record of 7.04 she set at the 2022 NCAA Indoor Championships.
The eight-time All-American now holds the top-three fastest collegiate indoor 60m times ever and is now tied as the 20th-fastest performer in world history. On top of that, she holds the five fastest performances in UT history.

This is the second time this season that a female Longhorn has been named NCAA Division I Athlete of the Week. Kennedy Simon earned the national award on December 6 for her NCAA-leading 500m time (1:08.59) set in Louisville.
The Longhorn women have now won the weekly award four times, with Alfred earning the award twice, Simon and Courtney Okolo in February of 2016.
