No. 5/7 Men's Basketball's Carr earns USBWA All-District VII accolades

Graduate guard named to 10-person team.
AUSTIN, Texas — University of Texas graduate guard Marcus Carr has been selected to the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) All-District VII team, the USBWA announced Tuesday afternoon. District VII of the USBWA includes all Division I institutions in the states of Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana.
Carr is joined on the 10-person team by Adam Flagler (Baylor), Keyonte George (Baylor), Marcus Sasser (Houston), Mike Miles (TCU), Wade Taylor IV (Texas A&M), Jamaal Shed (Houston), L.J. Cryer (Baylor), Quincy Olivari (Rice) and Ricky Council IV (Arkansas). The USBWA has selected all-district teams since its inception in the 1956-57 season.
Carr was previously named to the All-Big 12 First Team and the NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches) All-District 8 First Team. Through the team's first 34 games, he leads the team in scoring (15.9 ppg), assists (138), steals (60) and minutes (33.6 mpg).
Carr has posted an impressive 2.76 assist-to-turnover ratio (138-50). Over the last 10 contests, he has recorded 43 assists against just eight turnovers. Carr has topped the 20-point eight times this season and recorded at least 27 points in a game four times this year. He is the only active NCAA Division I player to boast at least 2,200 points (2,288), 700 assists (732) and 500 rebounds (539).
