Alfred named co-National Athlete of the Week

Alfred earns national weekly award for the fourth time this season.
AUSTIN, Texas - For the fourth time this season, Julien Alfred has been named the USTFCCCA Division I Women's National Athlete of the Week.
The 11-time All-American opened her individual event outdoor season winning the 200-meter dash at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational with a time of 21.91 - the second fastest time in collegiate history. The time also ranks as the Texas program record, surpassing Kynnedy Flannel's previous record of 22.23 set last season.
Later in the weekend, Alfred won the 100-meter dash with a wind-aided time of 10.72 - the fastest all-conditions time in NCAA history. The time is also the fastest time in Texas history in all conditions.
Tuesday's honor marks the fourth time Alfred has been named the National Athlete of the Week and second time sharing the honor. This is the first time since 2021 that a female athlete from Texas has been named M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week during the outdoor season (Tara Davis on March 30. 2021).
