Alfred earns Big 12 honor for the third time this season
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas No. 1 women's track and field sprinter Julien Alfred has been named the Big 12 women's performer of the week.
Alfred has earned the honor for the third time this outdoor season and fifth time overall this 2023 season.
The All-American competed in her second 100-meter dash of the season and remains undefeated after winning with a wind-legal time of 10.95. She's the second collegian to dip under 11 seconds and has the fastest wind-legal time of the season.
Alfred still holds the fastest NCAA time in the 100m this season at 10.72 and the world-leading 200m time at 21.91. She's is the only woman to run under 22 seconds this year. Along with her individual leading times, Alfred is part of the NCAA-leading 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams.
Texas is set to compete at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships May 12-14
