Women’s Tennis earns ITA All-Academic Team recognition

Eleven Longhorns from 2022-23 roster named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
AUSTIN, Texas — The University of Texas Women's Tennis team earned All-Academic Team recognition from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), the organization announced Monday. In addition, 11 Longhorns from the 2022-23 roster garnered ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades, including Susanna Brass, Charlotte Chavatipon, Gabby Cusano, Simran Kortikere, Vivian Ovrootsky, Taisiya Pachkaleva, Malaika Rapolu, Nicole Rivkin, Grace Thomas, Marlee Zein and Sabina Zeynalova.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:
- Have a team GPA of 3.2 or above (4.0 scale)
- All student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and
- All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year
To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition, a student-athletes must meet the following requirements:
- Have a GPA of at least 3.5 (4.0 scale) for the current academic year
- Be listed on the institutional eligibility form
Texas posted a 24-5 overall dual-match record during the 2023 season. The Longhorns swept the Big 12 Conference regular season and tournament championships and advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight. Texas was No. 7 in the final ITA national rankings, marking the sixth consecutive year that the Longhorns have placed in the top 10 of the final ITA national poll.
