AUSTIN, Texas — A total of five former University of Texas men's basketball standouts are on NBA Summer League 2023 rosters. Jones played at Texas for two seasons (2019-21) and was the No. 19 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks (traded to Charlotte on draft night). He recently completed his second year with the Hornets. Brown III spent one year (2020-21) with the Longhorns and was the No. 43 overall selection in the 2021 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Pelicans (traded to Portland on draft night).
