Tre Johnson among 24 players selected to compete in the 47th annual event in Houston this April.
AUSTIN, Texas — University of Texas Men's Basketball signee Tre Johnson is one of 24 players selected to compete in the 47th annual McDonald's All-American Game this April in Houston, the McDonald's All-American Games Selection Committee announced Tuesday afternoon. The McDonald's All-American Boys Game will be played at Toyota Center on April 2 and televised by ESPN.
Johnson will become the 23rd player in UT program history to play in the McDonald's All-American Game. Texas also has had two signees (C.J. Miles in 2005, Ron Holland in 2023) who participated in the McDonald's All-American Game but elected to turn professional after high school.
Johnson (6-6, 190), a guard from Dallas, Texas who plays at Link Academy (Branson, Mo.), is ranked as the No. 4 prospect in the nation by Rivals and No. 5 by ESPN and 247 Sports Composite. Johnson has paced Link Academy to a 17-4 record and the No. 4 spot in the latest SCNext boys' basketball national rankings by ESPN.
