No. 19 Men’s Basketball’s Mark claims spot on Preseason All-SEC team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — University of Texas Men's Basketball graduate guard Tramon Mark was named to the Preseason All-SEC team for the upcoming 2024-25 season, the Southeastern Conference office announced Monday. Mark was tabbed to the five-person Preseason All-SEC Third Team by league media members.
Mark has played in 107 career games (69 starts) during the previous four years at Arkansas (2023-24) and Houston (2020-23). He has recorded career totals of 1,200 points (11.2 ppg) and 424 rebounds (4.0 rpg) in 2,881 minutes (26.9 mpg) and converted 42.4-percent (406-957) from the floor and 79.6-percent (289-363) from the free throw line.
Last year at Arkansas, Mark played in 31 games (28 starts) and led the team in scoring (16.2 ppg), steals (36) and minutes (32.5 mpg) and ranked in a tie for second in assists (57) and third in rebounding (4.3 rpg). He converted 48.0-percent (168-350) from the floor, including a 36.4-percent (36-99) mark from three-point range, and 80.4-percent (131-163) from the free throw line last season. Mark reached double figures in scoring in 25 of 31 games, including ten 20-point performances and a pair of 30-point efforts. He earned his undergraduate degree from Arkansas in Summer 2024 and is pursuing postgraduate study at Texas.
Mark started all 37 games for Houston in 2022-23 while helping the Cougars post a 33-4 record (17-1 AAC), earn a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and advance to the NCAA Sweet 16. He played in all 32 games as a freshman in 2020-21 at Houston as the Cougars posted a 28-4 mark (14-3 AAC) and reached the NCAA Final Four.
No. 19 Texas opens the 2024-25 season with a neutral-site contest against Ohio State on Monday, Nov. 4 as part of the Hall of Fame Series Las Vegas Opening Night event. Tip is slated for approximately 9 p.m. Central (7 p.m. Pacific) at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, and the game will be televised nationally by TNT and truTV and streamed by Max. The Longhorns will play their home opener against Houston Christian presented by Truist on Friday, Nov. 8. Tipoff for the home opener is set for 7 p.m. Central in Moody Center, and the contest will be streamed by SEC Network+.
