Rodney Terry’s staff inks consensus top-50 national prospect to fall signing class.
AUSTIN, Texas — John Clark (Houston, Texas), a consensus top-50 national high school prospect, has signed an Athletic Scholarship Agreement (ASA) to play basketball next season at The University of Texas, head coach Rodney Terry announced Wednesday.
Clark (6-9, 230), a forward from Houston, Texas, who plays at Link Academy (Branson, Mo.), is ranked as the No. 37 overall prospect in the nation in the class of 2025 by 247 Sports Composite, No. 38 by On3, No. 40 by ESPN, No. 42 by Rivals and No. 45 by 247 Sports. He played at Klein Cain High School (Klein, Texas) during his freshman through junior seasons.
"John Clark brings a unique blend of finesse and power to the court and the kind of versatility that's crucial to succeed in the SEC," said recruiting analyst Blue Zertuche of Great American Shoot-Out. "He can score with touch around the rim but isn't afraid to use his physicality when needed. John's skill set has shown consistent growth over the past few years. Playing against top-tier, athletic competition in the SEC will only accelerate his development, helping him refine his game even further."
Clark earned All-Adidas Performer recognition on the 2024 Adidas 3SSB circuit this past summer while competing for T.J. Ford Elite.
As a junior in 2023-24, Clark averaged 17.8 points and 13.1 rebounds per game while converting 61-percent from the floor. He led all players in Class 6A in the state of Texas in rebounds per game and double-doubles (22). Clark paced Klein Cain to the first round of the 2024 UIL Class 6A state tournament and earned a spot on the All-Greater Houston Boys Basketball second team by the Houston Chronicle.
