Men’s Tennis preview: NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships

Texas singles players Sebastian Gorzny, Jonah Braswell and Timo Legout will begin play on November 19, with Legout and Lucas Brown starting doubles on November 20.
Waco, Texas – Texas Men's Tennis will have three singles players and one doubles pair competing in the 2024-25 NCAA Men's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships, which will begin on Tuesday in Waco, Texas. This will be the first of two years where the championships will be played in the fall after having traditionally been played in May following the team championships.
The Longhorns will be represented in singles by top-seed junior Sebastian Gorzny, and 9-16 seeds junior Jonah Braswell and freshman Timo Legout. Gorzny will open against Gavin Young of Michigan at 9 a.m. CT, while Braswell will face Raffaello Papajcik of Denver at 5:30 p.m. CT, and Legout will square off against Timofey Stepanov of Cal at 2 p.m. CT.
In doubles, Legout and sophomore Lucas Brown will open play on Wednesday against Wally Thayne and Zach Fuchs of BYU at a time to be announced later.
The NCAA singles and doubles competition will be conducted November 19-24 at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas. All doubles matches will be the best-of-three sets with 10-point superbreakers played in lieu of a third set.
