Cross Country closes season at NCAA Championships

Eva Jess and Isaac Alonzo lead teams with top finishes
MADISON, Wisc. – The Longhorns cross country programs finished the season at the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championship at the Thomas Zimmer Cross Country Course on Saturday.
The No. 30 ranked Texas women finished the 6k in 31st scoring 829 points. Saturday's competition marked the sixth time in the last 10 seasons the Longhorn women have competed as a team at the NCAA meet and first under women's distance coach Sarah Smith.
Eva Jess led Texas as the top finisher finishing the 6K with a time of 20:45.7 to score 107 points. Olivia Howell competed in her final race as a Longhorn and finished with a time of 20:57.8.
Elizabeth Pickett (21:30.3), Sydni Wilkins (21:30.9), Brighton Mooney (21:51.2), Kyra Pretre (21:57.5) and Elizabeth Stockman (22:28.9) were the final Longhorns to finish the race.
Both BYU men and women won the team titles, while Doris Lemngole of Alabama and Graham Blanks of Harvard took home the individual titles.
Isaac Alonzo was the lone Longhorn on the men's side to reach the NCAA Championships. He finished his season running the 10K in 30:05.2.
