Men's Cross Country's Alonzo earns All-SEC First Team honors

Three women named to All-SEC Second and Third Teams.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Isaac Alonzo of the Texas men's cross country program highlighted the Horns for the 2024 All-Southeastern Conference Cross Country Teams, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Performances were recognized from Friday's SEC Cross Country Championships where the Texas men finished fourth overall with 152 points and the No. 28 women finished fifth with 150.
Alonzo was named to the All-SEC First Team after finishing seventh overall in the men's 8K with his 40-second personal best time of 22:38.5. The first team for each gender includes the top-seven finishers, while the second team consists of the next seven (8-14), and the third team of 15-21. It's the first year the SEC has recognized a third team.
Alonzo has registered a personal best in the last two races and has led UT in three of the four meets this season.
On the women's side, Eva Jess was named to the All-SEC Second Team after finishing 12th overall with her 22-second personal best in the 6K at 19:38.1. Elizabeth Pickett (16th) and Olivia Howell (17th) were named to the All-SEC Third Team.
