No. 9 Women’s Tennis earns No. 9 national seed for NCAA Championship

The Longhorns receive a top-10 national seed for the sixth-straight season and will host Georgia Tech, Illinois and Harvard from May 4-5.
Austin – No. 9 Texas Women's Tennis has earned the No. 9 national seed in the 2024 NCAA Championship field, the NCAA announced Monday. The Longhorns will host First and Second Round matches on Saturday, May 4, and Sunday, May 5, at the Texas Tennis Center.
It marks the sixth-straight season the Longhorns have been a top-10 national seed in the tournament.
Texas (21-5) will face No. 45 Harvard (19-4) in the first round at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday, May 4. No. 24 Georgia Tech (13-9) will meet No. 38 Illinois (17-9) in the other first-round match at 10 a.m. CT on Friday. The two winners will play in the second round at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday, May 5.
UT will make its 39th NCAA Championship appearance and has a 67-34 (.663) all-time record in NCAA tourney play. The Longhorns have captured NCAA team titles in 1993, 1995, 2021 and 2022 and earned NCAA runner-up finishes in 1992 and 2005.
It is the eighth-straight year Texas has made the tournament field dating back to 2016, and it has reached at least the second round in each of those, while advancing to at least the quarterfinals in the last three.
The NCAA will announce its singles and doubles qualifiers for the NCAA Championship on Tuesday, April 30.
