LAS VEGAS, Nevada — The University of Texas Men's Basketball team will face The Ohio State University in the Hall of Fame Series Las Vegas event as part of College Basketball's Opening Night 2024 at T-Mobile Arena, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and Position Sports announced Monday. The Texas-Ohio State matchup will be played on Monday, Nov. 4, with tip time and television information to be announced at a later date.
In addition to the Texas-Ohio State contest, the Hall of Fame Series Las Vegas event will feature a doubleheader that also includes a women's basketball matchup between South Carolina and Michigan. General public tickets will go on sale beginning on Tuesday, May 21 at Noon Central at the following link: https://www.axs.com/events/547994/hall-of-fame-series-las-vegas-tickets.
"Everyone at The University of Texas is excited to compete in the Hall of Fame Series Las Vegas event as part of College Basketball's Opening Night," Texas head coach Rodney Terry said. "What an opportunity it is for our program to tip-off the season by facing a well-coached, big-time opponent in Ohio State and getting the chance to do it in T-Mobile Arena in front of a national television audience. Add to that our partnership in this event with the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, which includes former Longhorn legends Slater Martin and Jody Conradt, and you couldn't ask for a better experience to start our season."
Texas and Ohio State will be meeting for just the second time in men's basketball. In the only previous matchup, the Buckeyes claimed a 71-65 victory during a NIT Second Round contest in Columbus, Ohio, on March 17, 1986.
