Diving's Campbell and McCourt advance to Men’s Springboard final at U.S. Olympic Trials

Former Longhorn Jordan Skilken advances to Women’s Platform final.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Former University of Texas divers Grayson Campbell and Brendan McCourt both advanced to the Men's Springboard final on Friday at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Diving at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center. In addition, former Longhorn Jordan Skilken advanced to the Women's Platform final.
The top 12 qualifiers in both the Men's Springboard and Women's Platform events qualified for the finals. Scores from today's semifinal rounds will be carried over to the finals. The Men's Springboard final will be contested on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT (NBC), while the Women's Platform final is scheduled for Sunday at 6 p.m. CT (NBC).
The top two finishers in the men's and women's individual springboard events at the U.S. Olympic Trials earn automatic spots on the official Team USA roster. Only the top finisher in the men's and women's individual platform events earn automatic spots on the official Team USA roster.
During the Men's Springboard afternoon semifinals, Campbell posted a cumulative six-dive score of 403.05 to rest in sixth place and McCourt registered a score of 359.25 to finish in 11th place. Andrew Capobianco (507.25) and Carson Tyler (485.60) hold the top-two spots in the standings entering Sunday's final.
In the Women's Platform evening semifinals, Skilken tallied a cumulative five-dive score of 251.15 to rest in seventh place. Delaney Schnell (325.85) holds the top spot in the standings entering Sunday's final.
In the men's springboard morning preliminary rounds, a trio of former Longhorns advanced to the semifinals. Campbell posted the fifth-best score of the six-dive session at 396.10, while Noah Duperre placed ninth at 344.55 and McCourt finished 10th at 342.00. The top 18 qualifiers in prelims among the field of 39 divers advanced to the semifinals, and scores from the morning's preliminary rounds were not carried over to the afternoon's semifinals.
During the women's platform prelims, a pair of former Longhorns advanced to the semifinals. Skilken posted the seventh-best score of the five-dive session at 247.60, while Janie Boyle placed eighth at 241.50. The top 18 qualifiers in the prelims among the field of 28 divers advanced to the semifinals, and scores from the preliminary rounds were not carried over to the evening's semifinals.
