Men's Swimming's Carson Foster wins 200 IM final at U.S. Olympic Trials to qualify for second event in Paris

Rising sophomore Will Modglin places eighth in 200 IM final on Friday night.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Former University of Texas star Carson Foster punched his ticket to Paris in his second event by winning the final of the 200-meter individual medley on Friday evening at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming inside Lucas Oil Stadium. Foster previously booked his spot on Team USA with his victory in the 400 IM on Sunday.
The top finisher in the individual swimming events at the U.S. Olympic Trials earns an automatic spot on the official Team USA roster, while the runner-up is considered a near lock to make the team as well.
Foster claimed the victory in Friday's 200 IM final with a time of 1:55.65 and was followed in second by Shaine Casas at 1:55.83. Rising sophomore Will Modglin placed eighth in Friday's final with a mark of 1:58.44.
