Texas claims No. 13 seed and will face No. 12 seed Vanderbilt in Wednesday’s First Round at approximately 2:30 p.m. Central in Nashville.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The pairings for the 2025 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament have been set, conference officials announced Saturday evening. Texas (17-14, 6-12 SEC) is the No. 13 seed in the tournament and will open play in a First Round contest against No. 12 seed Vanderbilt (20-11, 8-10 SEC) on Wednesday, March 12 at approximately 2:30 p.m. Central on SEC Network.
Should Texas win its First Round game, the Longhorns would advance to face No. 5 seed and No. 22/21 Texas A&M (22-9, 11-7 SEC) in the Second Round on Thursday, March 13 at approximately 2:30 p.m. Central. Quarterfinal round games are set for Friday, March 14, while semifinal contests are scheduled on Saturday, March 15. The championship game is slated for Sunday, March 16 at Noon Central on ESPN.
The Longhorns will be making their first appearance in program history in the SEC Tournament. Texas is 52-44 (.542) all-time in league tournament games, as it registered a 31-25 mark in 27 trips to the Big 12 Championship and a 21-19 record in 21 appearances at the Southwest Conference Tournament.
