SEC releases 2025-26 Men’s Basketball league schedule

Texas opens 18-game league slate with home game against Mississippi State on January 3.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Southeastern Conference released its Men's Basketball league schedule on Wednesday for the upcoming 2025-26 season. The University of Texas opens conference action with a home contest against Mississippi State on Saturday, January 3 and concludes league play with a home game versus Oklahoma on Saturday, March 7.
Midweek games (Tuesday or Wednesday), game times and television information will be announced at a later date.
The Longhorns will play home conference games in Moody Center against the following opponents: Mississippi State (Jan. 3), Vanderbilt (Jan. 13 or 14), Texas A&M (Jan. 17), Georgia (Jan. 24), South Carolina (Feb. 3 or 4), Ole Miss (Feb. 7), LSU (Feb. 17 or 18), Florida (Feb. 25) and Oklahoma (March 7).
Each SEC team plays the other 15 teams at least once during league play. Three teams will be played a second time during the schedule, two of which are permanent opponents and one that will change each year.
The 2026 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament is slated for March 11-15 (Wednesday-Sunday) at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.
The SEC is coming off a historical season in 2024-25, as SEC Men's Basketball teams won a record 88.9-percent (185-23) of their regular season non-conference games last year and their KenPom.com rating of +22.09 was the highest in history. In 2025, the SEC also set NCAA records with 14 NCAA Tournament selections and seven Sweet 16 teams.
