Goosby named to Naismith Trophy High School Player of the Year Midseason Team

Texas signee is one of 25 players named to the prestigious list.
ATLANTA, Ga. — Texas Basketball signee Austin Goosby is one of 25 players selected to the 2025-26 Jersey Mike's Naismith Trophy Boys' High School Player of the Year Midseason Team, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Thursday.
Goosby (6-5, 175), a guard from Melissa, Texas, who plays at Dynamic Prep, is ranked as the No. 19 prospect in the nation by 247 Sports, No. 23 by ESPN, No. 24 by 247 Sports Composite and No. 27 by On3. He is the No. 2-ranked player in the state of Texas according to 247 Sports Composite. Through games of Jan. 19, Goosby is averaging 16.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game while leading Dynamic Prep to a 15-1 record and a No. 2 national ranking by Sports Illustrated and No. 4 by On3.
In his junior year in 2024-25, he averaged 24.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game while leading Melissa to the first round of the Class 5A Division I state tournament. During the 2025 Nike EYBL (Elite Youth Basketball League) season, Goosby played for Drive Nation (Texas) and averaged 16.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.7 steals per contest in the 17U Spring circuit while earning a spot on the EYBL 17U Spring All-Circuit first team. His older brother, Trevor, is an offensive lineman on the football team at The University of Texas.
Texas is back in action when it hosts No. 21/22 Georgia on Saturday, Jan. 24. Tip is set for Noon Central in Moody Center, and the contest will be televised nationally by SEC Network.
