Men’s Basketball’s Pope named to CSC Academic All-District Team

AUSTIN, Texas — University of Texas senior guard Jordan Pope has been named to the 2025-26 Academic All-District Men's Basketball team by College Sports Communicators, the organization announced Tuesday morning. The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Pope currently carries a 3.82 cumulative grade point average and is on pace to earn his undergraduate degree this summer in Communication & Leadership from the Moody College of Communication. He has played in 134 career games (129 starts) during his four years at Texas (2024-present) and Oregon State (2022-24). Pope owns collegiate career totals of 1,809 points, 310 assists and 307 rebounds and has converted 37.0-percent (268-724) from three-point range and 85.8-percent (295-344) from the free throw line in his career. He has reached double figures in scoring 98 times, topping the 20-point mark 20 times and hitting the 30-point plateau four times.
During UT's first 35 games (34 starts) this season, Pope is second on the team in assists (67, 1.9 apg) while posting a 2.09-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio (67 assists against 32 turnovers). He ranks second in minutes (28.9 mpg) and fourth in scoring (13.1 ppg) while hitting 36.9-percent (82-222) from three-point range and 84.0-percent (84-100) from the free throw line. Pope has reached double digits in scoring in 27 of the first 35 contests, including four 20-point efforts and one 30-point performance, this year.
Pope and the Longhorns (21-14) will face No. 8/13 (2 seed) Purdue in the NCAA West Region Sweet 16 on Thursday, March 26 in San Jose, Calif. Tip time is set for 6:10 p.m. Central (4:10 p.m. Pacific) at the SAP Center, and the game will be televised nationally by CBS.
