Texas opens 18-game league slate with home game against Florida on January 2.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Southeastern Conference released its Men's Basketball league schedule on Monday for the upcoming 2026-27 season. The University of Texas opens conference action with a home contest against Florida on Saturday, January 2 and concludes league play with a road contest at Texas A&M on Saturday, March 6.
Midweek games (Tuesday or Wednesday), game times and television information will be announced at a later date.
The Longhorns will play home conference games in Moody Center against the following opponents: Florida (Jan. 2), Auburn (Jan. 12 or 13), Oklahoma (Jan. 16), Arkansas (Jan. 23), Kentucky (Jan. 30), Alabama (Feb. 9 or 10), Texas A&M (Feb. 16 or 17), Tennessee (Feb. 27) and Missouri (March 2 or 3).
Each SEC team plays the other 15 teams at least once during league play. Three teams will be played a second time during the schedule, two of which are permanent opponents and one that will change each year.
The 2027 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament is slated for March 10-14 (Wednesday-Sunday) at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.
The SEC has earned more NCAA Tournament berths than any other conference over the last two seasons (14 in 2025 and 10 in 2026). The SEC's two-year average of 12 NCAA Tournament teams tops the prior single-season record (11) set by the Big East in 2011.
The SEC finished the 2026 regular season leading the nation in average NET (46.3), WAB (46.4), KenPom (40.7) and Torvik (42.4) rankings. The +19.65 KenPom rating by the SEC was the fifth highest in history and second highest over the last 21 seasons.
