The course is marked by a single white line and natural boundaries.
Code of conduct
The NCAA and The University of Texas promote good sportsmanship by student-athletes, coaches and spectators. We request your cooperation by supporting the participants and officials in a positive manner. Spectators are reminded that they are prohibited from entering the playing area. Negative comments directed at officials, student-athletes, coaches or team representatives are grounds for removal. The NCAA, the Big 12 Conference and The University of Texas thank you for your cooperation.

Emergency
For any emergency in or around Lady Bird Lake, including medical emergencies, please call 911.
Finish Line
The end of the race consists of a finish line marked with flags on both sides keeping student-athletes single-file in order of finish.

Learfield IMG College/Longhorn Sports Properties
Learfield IMG College is Texas Athletics' multimedia rights vendor, which does business in Austin as Longhorn Sports Properties (LSP). LSP produces and delivers conventional over-the-air radio, with Austin Radio Network's affiliate 104.9 FM "The Horn" serving as flagship station. LSP also represents all corporate sponsorship sales for Texas Athletics and the Frank Erwin Center, including those elements appearing in signage, gameday publications, consumer and retail promotions, and video. Length of Races
Men's Cross Country meets are typically either 8-10 km in length while Women's Cross Country meets are 5 km or 6 km.
Meets
NCAA Cross Country meets are held between the months of August and November.

Scoring
Team meets include seven individuals participating with only the top-five finishes counting for scoring purposes. The team with the lowest aggregate score, calculated by the sum of the top five finishes, wins the meet. Timing chips are used to record scores to ensure accuracy.

Start Line
All runners begin on the same starting arc marked with lanes for each individual. An official fires a pistol to indicate the start of the race. If runners collide and/or fall within the first 100 meters, runners are called back to the starting arc to restart the race.

Texas Longhorns Official Team Shop is the official team store of UT Athletics. Shop online at Shop.TexasSports.com or at one of two locations in Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium during standard business hours. The west side store entrance is on San Jacinto Blvd. directly across from the Etter-Harbin Alumni Center; the east side store entrance is on Robert Dedman Dr. next to the entrance to The University of Texas Club. Major credit cards are accepted at team shop locations. For credit card transactions, Longhorns Banking credit and debit cards from Bank of America are the preferred methods of payment.
