The University of Texas at Austin Athletics
Texas Athletics Ticket Resale Policy
Revenue generated through ticket sales is a significant source of funding for Texas Athletics. These funds are necessary to support our student-athletes scholarships, academic services, sports medicine and other support services.
Texas Athletics ticket policy applies to all current and future Texas Athletics accounts, regardless of donor status.
Texas Athletics allows season ticket holders and fans to resell or transfer individual game tickets to other fans on SeatGeek, the current Official Fan to Fan Ticket Marketplace of Texas Athletics, if they are unable to attend an event.
Unfortunately, for many years, a number of season ticket holders have taken advantage of their season ticket benefit by selling the majority of their tickets on secondary markets for their personal or business gain - redirecting funds away from the support of our student-athletes.
Ticket Use and Resale Policy
Texas Athletics continues to encourage ticket holders to resell or transfer individual game tickets if they are unable to attend an event.
However, Texas Athletics reserves the right, in its sole discretion and without notice, to cancel and refund subject to retention of processing fees, at any time, any ticket renewal opportunity or ticket order from any account that exhibits or has exhibited activity consistent with that of purchasing tickets with the primary intent of resale for profit.
Texas Athletics reserves the right, in its sole discretion with notice, to require accounts holding tickets with required seat donations to make the full donation annually to retain their tickets for any account that exhibits or has exhibited activity consistent with that of purchasing tickets with the primary intent of resale for profit.
Texas Athletics reserves the right, in its sole discretion and without notice, to prohibit, prevent or otherwise restrict access to donor ticket presales or postseason purchases for accounts that have been identified as exhibiting activity consistent with that of purchasing tickets with the primary intent of resale for profit.
Reducing Fraudulent Tickets
For tickets that are eligible, SeatGeek is the Official Fan to Fan Ticket Marketplace of Texas Athletics and provides a safe and secure marketplace for Texas fans. For any ticket sold on a secondary market that results in a fraudulent transaction, the ticket holder account is subject to tickets being revoked without refund. The season ticket holder or individual game ticket holder is solely responsible for the use of tickets on their account.
Reconsideration Form
Season ticket holders who believe their tickets have been revoked in error may request reconsideration by completing the reconsideration form. Reconsideration forms will be evaluated by Texas Athletics staff. Season ticket holders who submit a reconsideration form will receive a response via email with in four weeks of submission. Should a season ticket holder seek reconsideration, prior ability to purchase season tickets does not guarantee you access to purchase season tickets and should not be used as a basis for reconsideration. The reconsideration form should include all relevant information supporting the season ticket holders position that they have not been purchasing season tickets with the primary intent of reselling those tickets for profit.
We thank you for your cooperation with this policy. Following this policy will allow Texas Athletics to continue to sell tickets for their intended purpose and support our students-athletes.
Ticket Holder Agreement & Consent
All tickets are a revocable license and may not be used for advertising, promotion of other commercial or trade purposes, including, but not limited to, advertising, promotions, contests or sweepstakes, without prior written consent of The University of Texas Athletics Department. The Holder agrees not to transmit, distribute, or sell (or aid in transmitting, distributing, or selling) any description, account, picture, video, audio, or other form of reproduction of the event or any surrounding activities (in whole or in part) for the event for which this ticket is issued. Breach of any terms of this license shall subject the Holder to all legal remedies available to The University of Texas.
