The University of Texas at Austin Athletics

As part of the What Starts Here campaign, a BOLD and VISIONARY course has been set by Vice President and Director of Athletics Chris Del Conte to ensure Texas Athletics recaptures its historical leadership position of excellence in all aspects of intercollegiate athletics. During the last four years, we made an unprecedented commitment to enhance the experience and resources for student-athletes and coaches, and create the most exciting and welcoming gameday atmospheres for Longhorn Nation.

TEXAS BASKETBALL: A NEW ERA
As we build on the momentum Head Coach Vic Schaefer has established for Texas Women’s Basketball, and the excitement and optimism Head Coach Chris Beard has generated for Texas Men’s Basketball, the time is now to make a comprehensive investment in both programs, while also introducing a modern experience for our championship-level Texas Rowing program.

NUTRITION/FUELING STATION

BASKETBALL PERFORMANCE AND TRAINING FACILITIES

An upgraded locker room will provide a comfortable environment for our student-athletes to properly prepare for games and practices, as well as place to decompress post-competition. The space will also serve as a key tool for recruiting future Longhorns.

A tunnel connecting the Moody Center to the Basketball and Rowing Training Facility allows student-athletes and coaches easy access between the two facilities.

The new facilities will include private offices and locker rooms for coaches and training staff, including elevated observation decks for coaches, recruits, and program visitors.

ROWING PERFORMANCE & TRAINING FACILITIES

The Basketball and Rowing Training Facility houses a separate state-of-the-art training area for Texas Rowing with the most advanced equipment and first-class resources.
A separate, spacious student-athlete lounge will also be available with all-new resources and technology for Rowing student-athletes and coaches.

INVEST IN EXCELLENCE

PHILANTHROPIC INVESTMENT is a key component of an aggressive but fiscally responsible approach for Texas Athletics to create and sustain the nation's best environment for student-athlete academic and championship success. Our recent capital investments in The Frank Denius Family University of Texas Athletics Hall of Fame, J. Dan Brown Player Development Center, Softball Player Development Center, Eddie Reese Outdoor Pool, Moody Center, and Moncrief Neuhaus Athletic Center/South End Zone demonstrate our commitment to not only meet the long-existing standards within our department, but also chart a new course of excellence throughout college athletics.
To build on the momentum within our programs, enhance the experience for our student-athletes, coaches and staff, and create a more dynamic space for prospective recruits and their families, we intend to raise $60,000,000 for this facility. With your support, Texas Athletics can grow into the next phase of our history and extend on our standard of excellence.

Donations to this project ahead of April 8, 2022 will positively impact your access to seating in the new Moody Center. The Longhorn Foundation is currently soliciting leadership gifts to support ongoing capital needs for Texas Athletics. We look forward to working with you in investing in championships and a world-class student-athlete experience.

Contact the Longhorn Foundation at 512-471-4439 or via the webform below for inquiries into supporting capital improvements or recognition opportunities and one of our staff members will reach out to you.
