As The University of Texas at Austin’s premier educational outreach program for Title I elementary and middle schools in Central Texas, the Neighborhood Longhorns Program serves over 5,500 students annually and helps increase their overall grade average and attendance through tutoring and educational incentive programs.
More than 750 UT volunteers provide tutoring, homework assistance, and event support for students in the program. The program’s educational incentives include tours of the university with faculty and students, attending academic and athletic events on campus, and a scholarship award for successfully completing the program.
