Played in 25 of a possible 27 games … Academic All-Big 12 Second Team selection … ranked fourth on the team in assists (21) and offensive rebounds (29) and fifth in steals (21) while averaging 15.2 minutes per contest ... tied his career high in scoring with seven points (3-3 FG, 1-1 threes) and registered eight rebounds, three steals and a career-high two blocks in 26 minutes against No. 12/14 Oklahoma State in the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship game (March 13) ... posted seven points (4-6 FT) and added three boards, one steal and one block in 19 minutes at No. 18/17 Texas Tech (Feb. 27) ... set a career high in steals (five) while adding 10 rebounds and three assists in 30 minutes at nr/No. 24 Oklahoma State (Feb. 6) ... set a career high in assists (four) and tied his career highs in rebounds (11) and three-point field goals made (2-3) while adding six points and three steals in 31 minutes against Indiana (Dec. 1).
AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN IN 2019-20:
Played in 16 games (one start) … Academic All-Big 12 Second Team selection … averaged 1.4 points and 1.8 rebounds in 10.1 minutes per game … provided a huge spark in UT’s late-season five-game win streak, improving to 4.2 ppg and a team-best 5.0 rpg while converting 53.8-percent (7-13) from the floor, including 50-percent (4-8) from three-point range, in 21.3 mpg … played 19 minutes in the home win against TCU (Feb. 19) … teamed with Courtney Ramey for primary defensive responsibility on TCU’s leading scorer Desmond Bane and limited Bane to 13 points (4-13 FG) … had three points and two boards while adding one assist, one block and one steal in 18 minutes at K-State (Feb. 22) … helped limit K-State’s Xavier Sneed to 3-12 FG shooting … posted two points, six boards, one assist and one block in 16 minutes vs. No. 20/19 West Virginia (Feb. 24) … had season highs in points (eight), FG made (3-3), three-point FG made (2-2) and steals (two) and added five rebounds in 22 minutes at No. 22/21 Texas Tech (Feb. 29) … tied his season highs in points (eight), FG made (3-7) and three-point FG made (2-4) and added a career-high 11 rebounds (three offensive) to go along with one assist and one steal in a career-best 32 minutes at Oklahoma (March 3).
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2018-19:
Elected to redshirt the season.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Westlake High School in Austin, Texas (head coach Robert Lucero) … averaged 14.8 points, 10.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game as a senior … led Westlake to a 36-4 record and a trip to the Class 6A state semifinals in his senior year … claimed Central Texas Player of the Year honors by the Austin American-Statesman and earned District 25-6A MVP accolades while leading Westlake to the 6A state quarterfinals as a junior … averaged 14.7 points and 11.3 rebounds per game in his junior year and paced Westlake to a 29-7 mark … led his team in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots as Westlake advanced to the 6A state quarterfinals in his sophomore season … attended St. Stephen’s Episcopal School (Austin, Texas) as a freshman and helped the team win the school’s first ever state championship.
PERSONAL:
Born in Austin, Texas … son of Ed and Tara Cunningham … father, Ed, was an offensive lineman at The University of Texas (1985-89) who earned All-America honors in 1989 … oldest of four children … has two younger brothers, Carson and Lochlann, and one younger sister, Haden.
