Cody San Miguel begins his first season as Coordinator of Video & Operations at The University of Texas. San Miguel was hired at Texas on Sept. 28, 2020.
San Miguel spent the 2019-20 season as an assistant coach/video coordinator at the United States Air Force Academy. Prior to his time in Colorado Springs with the Falcons, he worked as an assistant coach at Talladega College (Talladega, Ala.) during the 2018-19 season and helped the Tornadoes post a 24-8 overall mark (11-3 Gulf Coast Athletic Conference) and advance to the First Round of the NAIA National Tournament.
San Miguel served as a graduate assistant coach under Danny Kaspar for three years (2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18) at Texas State University. During the 2016-17 campaign, the Bobcats posted a 22-14 overall record to earn its first winning season in 14 years. The Bobcats advanced to the championship game of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament and earned a spot in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament, making its first postseason tourney appearance in 20 years. Texas State registered its first 20-win season since 1993-94 and second in program history since becoming a Division I program.
San Miguel was the head coach at Hill Country Christian School in San Marcos, Texas for two seasons (2013-14 and 2014-15). He led Hill Country to the second round of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) state playoffs in both seasons and posted an undefeated district record in 2014-15.
San Miguel served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2007-11 as an infantry team leader/company land navigator and was stationed at USMC Camp Pendleton, Calif. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Health and Wellness Promotion from Texas State University in 2016 and received his Master of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas State in 2018.
