Simon McCormack
Director of Program Development
3rd season at Texas
Simon McCormack begins his first season as Director of Program Development and his third season on the staff at The University of Texas. He previously worked at Texas in the role of graduate manager for two years in 2015-16 and 2016-17.
McCormack served as the video coordinator at Quinnipiac University (Hamden, Conn.) under head coach Baker Dunleavy during the 2017-18 season.
In his two seasons at Texas as a graduate manager, McCormack assisted the coaching staff with game preparation and scouting, compiling personnel reports and video. In addition, he assisted the video coordinator with highlight videos and assisted the director of basketball operations with practice logs, visit planning, scheduling, daily practice text reminders and overall logistics. McCormack also created slide shows and videos to assist with the program’s freshman orientation.
A former Division I men’s basketball player, he served as a team captain at American University (Washington, D.C.) as a senior in 2011-12. After earning his bachelor of business administration (B.B.A.) degree in marketing from American in 2012, he worked for three years as a sales analyst for GE Capital Real Estate.
A native of Portsmouth, N.H., he was born on Oct. 10, 1988. McCormack graduated from Northfield Mount Hermon School in Massachusetts, where he served as a team captain during his senior year in 2007-08. McCormack also served an internship in 2011 with the Maine Red Claws (Portland, Maine), the NBA G League affiliate for the Boston Celtics.
