Sara Neaves is in her first year on the Longhorns' coaching staff. The Austin, Texas rowed four seasons for the Longhorns (2014-18), winning three Big 12 Championships and competing in three NCAA Championship regattas. She was a three-time letterwinner and two-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team honoree at UT.
Neaves was part of three top-eight NCAA finishes for Texas, helping the Longhorns to a then-program best third-place finish in 2018 rowing bow in the I Eight that placed third in the grande final.
In 2017, Neaves spent the bulk of the season competing with the second varsity eight before moving to the three-seat in the Varsity 4+ for the Big 12 Championships. After pacing UT to a conference crown with the Fours, she took part in helped Texas to a fourth-place finish in the grand final and the overall standings at the NCAA Championships.
She competed with the I Eight in 2016, rowing at four-seat for the Big 12 Championship-winning boat and at three-seat in the petite final victory in the NCAA Championships.
A graduate of the UT’s programs in Rhetoric & Writing and Linguistic Studies, Neaves represented Texas Rowing as a Chairperson of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC).
