On the intensity level at practice today: A few guys are sore from the Oklahoma game.It wasn't as intense as it was last week, but for the most part, we practiced all right. Intensity is usually there, and I think tomorrow it will be back up.
On his big plays: I think the hard work is paying off, from the spring and the summer working with the team. My confidence is pretty high right now. I know all of my teammates are behind me. So are the coaches.Coach Kennedy deserves a lot of credit too.
On summer training camp and his comfort level: Since I had a good camp, that helped my confidence going into the season. Vince and I would run routes every Monday and Wednesday during the summer. Sometimes Texas State came out and we played 7-on-7 against them. It helped me to see the ball and catch the ball better because I haven't always been a receiver.
On his work with Vince: He has had confidence in me since I came here.He has always had confidence in me, but our chemistry has grown and grown since the season started.
On his past as a quarterback: It was hard [to adjust] at first, but now it is getting easier. The injuries when I first got here were hard and slowed me down, but I am adjusting a lot better now. Being a quarterback in high school helps me now when I'm reading the defense and studying film.
On his mom as his inspiration: She has always been there. She is the first one there when I'm hurt, sick, or when I don't have anybody.
On Quan Cosby: Quan was a little older than me, so I didn't know him as well in high school. Actually, though, I saw him play once in Cameron. I saw him score a touchdown and take a knee. Then when I got to high school, I started doing that. Now we can have friendly competition.
