Matthews officially signs with Lions

DETROIT, Mich. -- University of Texas FB Will Matthews (Austin, Texas/Westwood HS) agreed to terms as an undrafted free agent with the Detroit Lions on Thursday. He will join former Longhorns WR Roy Williams, DE Cory Redding and DT Shaun Rogers on the Lions roster.
A four-year letterman at UT, Matthews played in 48 career games, starting four, and rushed 52 times for 212 yards and four TDs. He played in all 12 games as UT's primary fullback in 2004 and rushed 38 times for 161 yards and one TD, and caught eight passes for 42 yards and a TD.
Williams was one of 19 players signed as free agents by Detroit following the draft.
