AUSTIN, Texas -- The University of Texas will honor the 2005 Longhorns National Championship football team in a celebration presented by H-E-B set for Sunday, Jan. 15, at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Longhorns players and coaches from the school-record setting 13-0 squad as well as the UT band, cheerleaders, Bevo and other spirit groups will be in attendance.
Gates will open for the event at 5 p.m. (Central) and the program will begin at 6:30 p.m. Video highlights of the year will be running on the Jumbotron in the stadium beginning at 5 p.m. UT's Tower will be re-lit, bathed in orange with the No. 1 on all four sides, in honor of UT's fourth National Championship team.
Free parking is available in all state lots and UT parking garages except for the Trinity parking garage ($8 per car). A limited amount of RV parking is available as well.
Seating for the disabled will be located on 7th level of the east side stands; enter stadium gate 27 (northeast side of stadium).
Guests may begin to line up for admission at stadium gates no earlier than noon on Sunday. Overnight camping will not be permitted.

Typical gameday stadium rules apply, including:
• No umbrellas are permitted within the stadium.
• No professional detachable long lens cameras, electronic equipment cases, backpacks, knapsacks, large bags, banners, fireworks, strollers, tripods, alcoholic beverages, coolers, cans, bottles, wineskins, or foodstuffs may be carried into the stadium; small flags may be brought into the stadium only if they are NOT on a pole or small stick handle.
• All containers, including handbags, are subject to visual inspections; patrons who refuse to allow visual inspections of contents will be denied entry to the stadium.
• A new smoking policy effective during the 2004 season prohibits smoking within the stadium EXCEPT IN DESIGNATED AREAS which will be identified with signage; no smoking is permitted within stadium confines, including suites and club areas.
• No weapons of any kind will be permitted in Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, in the Moncrief-Neuhaus Athletic Center, or in any designated UT venue; this includes weapons used by off-duty law enforcement officers; firearms must be secured at either UTPD (corner of Dedman Dr. & Littlefield Dr.) or within an individual's vehicle.
• Open alcoholic beverage containers are prohibited on STADIUM BLOCK; law enforcement officers will monitor this policy and appropriate signage warning against "open containers" will be posted in these areas.
The Longhorns, Ltd., stores (located on both the east and west side of the stadium) will be open during the celebration, as will the stadium's concession stands.
The west side upper deck of the stadium will be closed due to construction.

H-E-B is the presenting sponsor of the National Championship celebration.
AT&T is distributing 25,000 cheer cards prior to Sunday's celebration.
TV Coverage
All Austin stations plan coverage of the event (KVUE-TV/ABC; KXAN-TV/NBC; K-EYE-TV/CBS).
These stations/networks have committed live coverage: KTBC-TV/FOX.
Fox Sports Net Southwest is scheduled to re-air the program between 9-10 p.m. Central. Consult local listings for coverage in other cities.
Time Warner News 8 Austin plans live coverage and re-broadcasts on Monday, Jan. 16 at noon and 8 p.m. Central.
FSN Southwest will recap the celebration on Sunday, Jan. 15, at 9 p.m. CT. FSN Southwest is available to cable and satellite TV customers in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and parts of New Mexico. Satellite TV viewers living outside of the Southwest region can access FSN Southwest on DirecTV Ch. 646 and Dish Network Ch. 416.
Live Internet Coverage
TexasSports.TV will carry live coverage of the entire event for free. Coverage will begin at 6:15 p.m. Central. Yahoo.com and www.sportsradio1300.com plan free live audiocasts of the program.
Austin Radio Coverage
The official flagship station of UT Athletics, KVET-AM The Zone 1300 and KVET-FM 98.1, plan a simulcast of the program (air time 6:15 p.m. Central).
