ADT National Championship Trophy to be displayed at retail stores in Austin

WHAT: The ADT National Championship Trophy, won by the Texas Longhorns on Wednesday as national college football champions, will be on display this weekend at Sears Grand Austin (Saturday) and Cabela's (Sunday). Fans will be able to have a free online photo taken with the Waterford® crystal football trophy.

• The ADT National Championship Trophy was presented to The University of Texas on the field following the Longhorns' win over USC at the Rose Bowl on Wednesday in Pasadena.
• The ball that sits atop the ADT National Championship Trophy is made of Waterford® crystal. The trophy is valued at $30,000 and takes three months to produce.
• The ADT National Championship Trophy is 34 inches tall and weighs 37 pounds. The ball alone weighs approximately eight pounds.
• Every year, a new trophy is made. Texas will keep the ADT National Championship Trophy for permanent display on campus.
• The trophy is presented by ADT Security Services, Inc., in partnership with the American Football Coaches Association. This is the 20th year the AFCA has awarded the trophy to the National Champion.
• This season, ADT partnered with Cabela's and Sears, two top national customers of ADT, to host the free public displays in the Austin area.
