Ten things you need to know about Amber Hall

Ever wanted to know more about your favorite Texas softball players? This season, find out 10 things you need to know about them, straight from their teammates and coaches.
1. What does Simon think? "She is talent show worthy. In my opinion she could steal the show," says Kacie Gaskins. After her softball career is over, Amber could very well bring Simon Cowell of American Idol fame to his knees with her angelic voice.
2. How many things can one girl do? Amber is a part of the UT Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She sings worship and leads chapel before games. "Amber can play the piano like nobody's business," says Tina Boutelle.
3. Dr. Jekyll, Ms. Hyde? "She has an evil twin we call Elmira, may she rest in peace. Now that Amber doesn't get as consumed with being perfect, we'll hope we don't see Elmira anymore," says head coach Connie Clark.
4. The glass is half full. Amber always finds something positive about everyone she meets. "She is an awesome girl with great values," freshman Kelly Melone. She is a very loyal teammate. "She took good care of me after my surgery sophomore year. She is one of the most caring people I know," says Jaclyn Daniels.
5. Come on Grandma! "Amber is always the last person on the bus. She is seemingly scattered but really has it all together," says Rachael Cook. The team likes to call Amber "grandma" because she always takes her time with whatever she may be doing.
6. Coffee Anonymous. "She is addicted to coffee," says freshman Crystal Saenz. The main reason she is ever late to the bus is because she is making herself some coffee for the road. "On our camping trip, she admitted she has a coffee addiction and she is going to try to control it and take it down to one BIG cup of coffee a day," says Boutelle.
7. Undercover Secret Agent? "She has a great collection of high school ID photos. None of which really look like her. Every year she looked completely different," says Brittany Reliford. Could she be an undercover cop or international spy?
8. Funny Girl. "She shows a very nice, quiet, and polite presence when you meet her. What you don't know is how sneaky and funny she is. She is a jokester and likes to play random games like 'Would you rather...' but we all love that game," says catcher Megan Willis.
9. "Lions, Tigers, and Bears! Oh my!" Desiree Williams says, " I really don't know what I would do without my little 'Bear Claw,'" The team came up with completely random nicknames during the NCAA Tournament last year and Amber was handed the name Bear Claw. No one really knows why that name, but it has stuck ever since.
10. Talking to a Wall. Amber can hold an intellectual conversation with anyone she meets. She will meet people in the airport and just sit there and talk about life. "We went to a symphony performance the other night and I look over and there's Amber chatting away with the gentleman sitting on the other side of her. UNBELIEVABLE!" says Boutelle.
