Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship bracket announced

DALLAS -- The pairings for the 2006 Phillips 66 Big 12 Men's Basketball Championship have been set, conference officials announced tonight. Texas (25-5, 13-3 Big 12) is the No. 1 seed in the tournament and will face the winner of Thursday's first-round contest between No. 8 seed Texas Tech and No. 9 seed Kansas State in the quarterfinal round on Friday, March 10 at 11:30 a.m. (Central).
Semifinal round play is scheduled for Saturday, March 11, while the championship game is slated for Sunday, March 12 at 2 p.m. All tournament games will be played at American Airlines Center in Dallas.
All quarterfinal and semifinal round contests will be televised by ESPN Regional in Big 12 markets. In addition, Saturday's semifinals will be broadcast by ESPN2 to markets outside of the ESPN Regional viewing area. Sunday's championship game will be televised nationally by ESPN.
All Texas games also will be aired over the radio on the Longhorn Sports Network.
