Brad Alan Lewis is currently in his first year as a coach with the Longhorns rowing program. Lewis attended U.C. Irvine where he earned an undergraduate degree in psychology and a master's degree in finance.
Lewis is an Olympic gold medalist in rowing. He and his double scull teammate Paul Enquist won the gold at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic games. In the 20 years since their victory, no American sculling team, male or female, has taken the gold.
In addition to being a five-time member of the U.S. National Team as a competitor, Lewis has also coached the U.S. National Team. His double scull crew competed at the 1993 World Rowing Championships, held in Roudnice, Czech Republic.
Lewis, an author of eight books, gained international acclaim for his seminal work "Assault on Lake Casitas," which chronicles the training and racing that earned Lewis and Enquist their Olympic gold. More recently, Lewis produced a rowing documentary entitled "A Fine Balance" that shows the U.S. Men's Olympic team preparing and racing at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
