UT Athletics, HOST Communications and Clear Channel Communications (owner of KVET-AM and KVET-FM) have agreed to extend the current exclusive flagship radio broadcast rights through June 30, 2015. HOST Communications, which does business as the Longhorn Sports Network, is the multimedia rights holder for UT Athletics through 2015.
"We are proud to continue this important affiliation with Clear Channel Communications and KVET," Men's Athletics Director DeLoss Dodds said. "They have provided a large amount of resources to accommodate our diverse program needs. They are a great promotional partner for us as well."
UT sports, including all football and men's basketball games will continue to be broadcast in Austin exclusively on KVET-AM (1300) and KVET-FM (98.1). Women's basketball, baseball, and the weekly Longhorns SportsLine radio shows with Mack Brown and Rick Barnes, will be aired on KVET-AM.
"This new agreement underscores the strength of our partnership with The University of Texas and HOST Communications. We are honored to be associated with the most dominant sports brand in collegiate athletics. Additionally, this collaboration punctuates our commitment to provide the most dominate sports entertainment package in Texas," said Dusty Black, market manager and regional vice president of Clear Channel Radio Austin.
Scott Willingham, vice president/general manager of HOST Communications/Longhorn Sports Network, said, "Clear Channel has been a valuable partner to us and we are delighted to continue our relationship with them as the flagship station of UT Athletics."
