Longhorns set spring schedule
01.30.2007 | Football
Texas' spring football schedule has been set. The Longhorns' first two practices of the spring will be open to fans, and the annual Spring Jamboree scrimmage will kickoff at noon on March 31. The Spring Jamboree will once again be presented by Time Warner Cable.
The Longhorns will kickoff the spring with a practice on Friday, Feb. 23, tentatively set for 3:45 p.m. That workout, as well as the one on Saturday, Feb. 24, which is tentatively set for 12:45 p.m., will be open to the public.
UT's annual Spring Jamboree scrimmage noon kickoff time was established to accommodate fans attending the Longhorns' baseball game with Oklahoma at 2 p.m. that afternoon at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. A complete schedule of the Spring Jamboree events and start times will be available later at Mack Brown-TexasFootball.com.
Texas is the only team in the nation to have won 10 or more games in each of the last six years. Following a win in the 2006 Alamo Bowl, the Longhorns have claimed bowl wins in three consecutive years for the first time in school history and have also won five of their last six bowls. Texas returns 13 starters (six offense/six defense/one special teams) and 47 lettermen (21 offense/24 defense and two special teams) from last season's team.
