Men's Tennis eliminated from main draw at ITA All-American Championship

TULSA, Okla. -- Texas sophomore Dimitar Kutrovsky scored a round-of-64 victory in the main singles draw but could not stave off elimination Thursday at the ITA All-American Championship at the Michael Case Tennis Center.
Kutrovsky (Sofia, Bulgaria) opened the day with a decisive 6-3, 6-3 victory over Arkansas' Blake Strode in the round of 64 but suffered a 6-3, 6-2 defeat to Mississippi's Erling Tveit in the round of 32.
Kutrovsky and sophomore Josh Zavala (Amarillo, Texas) suffered an 8-5 defeat to Middle Tennessee State's Enrique Olivares in the main draw doubles round of 32. Freshman Ed Corrie (Harpendon, England) and senior Luis Diaz Barriga (Cordoba, Mexico) fell victim to Mississippi's Tveit and Jonas Berg by an 8-6 count in the round of 32.
Both Texas doubles pairs will begin consolation round play on Friday afternoon.
